Where Preparation Meets Opportunity!

What is
EAOP?

The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) has been in operation at every University of California campus since 1976. The objective of the program is to prepare educationally and/or economically disadvantaged students to become eligible for post-secondary education upon high school graduation. EAOP has successfully increased college preparedness by academically supporting and monitoring students in their educational pursuits and distributing pertinent information to participants and their parents. The program works with high schools, and community agencies, to keep students and their parents informed of the advantages of a college education and the requirements for admission.

Mission

EAOP contributes to the University of California's Student Academic Preparation and Educational Partnerships (SAPEP) mission to raise student achievement and close achievement gaps. The vision of UC's SAPEP programs is to strengthen California's educational system in ways that will promote a vibrant economy by building a highly skilled and creative workforce.

Services

Academic Guidance: EAOP staff provides one-on-one and group guidance to students to reinforce the efforts of teachers, counselors and parents.
